On demand ordering processing
One of our very first commitments is our on demand product delivery process. All of our products are made to order. On demand is an integral part of our brand. It means we hold no stock, which means we hold no waste. It's as simple as that! Every single order placed with Soul Bay is processed individually. This ensures that we make sure your order is made to order but to ensure we are environmentally friendly, it does mean you have to wait a few days for your order to be delivered but rest assured, you will be supporting our business and the environment!
When we read that 10% of worldwide CO₂ comes from clothing, that 60% of clothes are made from or with plastic, and that a dump truck of textile waste goes to landfill or is incinerated every second, we knew we wanted to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
At every opportunity we will consciously delivery with sustainability in mind. From the way we source, we operate and make our products to what we do outside of product building, we are consciuously thinking about the environment and what we can do better. What is recycled polyester?
Recycled polyester (rPET for short) is a fabric that’s produced from synthetic fibers. Recycled polyester is produced by recycling existing materials (like plastic bottles and packaging) but still has all the characteristics and performance as a regular polyester, making it a more sustainable fabric alternative.
How’s recycled polyester made?
Recycled polyester is made by crushing plastic products into small pieces. These small pieces are then processed into yarn, transformed into a fiber, and in the end—made into a fabric.
To verify materials we make sure all of our products are certified and stamped with credibility. These certificate include;
GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD (GOTS)
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent third-party certification of the entire textile supply chain. This standard also sets limitations on other fibers that can be blended with organic fibers.
Organic Content Standard (OCS)
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a certification for non-food goods that confirms the organic material presence in the final product. It also follows the supply chain from its source to the final product.
Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)
The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) are international, voluntary standards that set requirements for third-party certification of recycled content and supply chain. The shared goal of the standards is to increase the use of recycled materials. The GRS includes additional criteria for social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.
Ecocert COSMOS
Ecocert COSMOS standard ensures ingredients are derived only from natural origin except for a limited ingredients list authorized in small quantities. On average, Ecocert-certified products contain 99% ingredients of natural origin.
Ecocert standard verifies the composition, processing, and packaging of the product.
The certification ensures an environmentally friendly and safe product that’s made with consideration of biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. This certification includes other factors like the absence of GMO and petrochemical ingredients (parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes, and synthetic colorants).
Planting Trees
As we grow, so will the trees! We want to keep trying to do our best to be as sustainable as possible. One of our initiatives is to plant a tree for each order that we process. We will be working in partnership with Ecologi.
